Born in Baku, Azerbaijan In 1940.

1962 to 1965 Studied in Azim-Azimzade Azerbaijan Art School

1965-1966 Studied in Moscow Art School "Memory of 1905".

1966-1972 Studied in Moscow State Art Institute (graphic arts dept.) named after V.I. Surikov.

1975 Was admitted as a member of the Union of Professional Artists.

1988 Took part in an art tour of Zambia and Mozambique.

The same year, was elected Chairman of Fine Arts section of the Committee for Arts and Culture of the Soviet Friendship Association for Cultural Relations with Africa.

2004 Victor was granted highly coveted title: “Distinguished Artist of Russia”.

His works are recognized with diplomas, letters of appreciation, and prizes by the Ministry of Russian Culture and museums.

Professional interests of V. Shmohin are centered on a very definite set of themes that he weaves into his work: Circus, Women, Love, and Cosmos.

Various personal exhibitions have been held throughout Russia as well as in Latvia, Poland, Zambia, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Austria, Yugoslavia, China and Germany.

Works are represented in the Russian Ministry of Culture and private collections in many foreign countries.
